France for just £15 with Eurotunnel – Limited Offer

posted in: Going Out, Money, Sport & Recreation | 8

After all this talk of ferries I feel I may be going slightly mad, so I thought I’d let you know about a deal Eurotunnel are doing at the moment to promote their 15th anniversary. They are offering travelers the chance to go to France and back in a day for just £15 per car travelling from Folkestone to Calais. The offer is limited to travel on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays until 17th December 2009, but is still a great saving as it is return travel for a car and up to 9 passengers.

You can read the details of the offer on the Eurotunnel website, but to benefit from it, simply call the booking centre on 08705 700 800 and quote ’15 years’. You can’t book online or on the day of travel and booking must be made at least one day before you leave. Tickets are non-amenable and non-refundable and the offer will last until all the cheap tickets run out so book quickly!

  1. Bargain! And with Dover shut due to high winds again today, you’re guaranteed to get there!

  2. Oui ! Same here 15Â? !

Try Calais Vins or Franglais, great value ! Tomorrow is Beaujolais Nouveau – France CLOSED !!!!!

Travelled by Eurotunnel this week, UK terminal empty, no hot food being served, shutters down. Didn’t hear the sound of a till opening.

Arrived too early for booking (4hours) charged just 4Â? extra for the next train. It is more expensive than the ferries at the outset 152Â? week return, nevertheless almost guaranteed and I do like the flexibility.

  3. Forgot to say best baguettes in the world chez ‘FRED’ ! Like crunchie crumpets ……

  4. Completely jealous of your plans/contemplations. Take me with you? :)

  5. Thanks for the tips Belle, and J if you can make it to Folkestone then sure you can have a place in my car!

  6. Adem

If you do cross over I can recommend some restaurants linked to budget and style.

When EF are operating I will be happy to send you plenty of info on Boulogne and its region, for places to eat, stay and visit, not necessarily the ones that shout the loudest, if you get my meaning.

If it works, maybe you could approach the recommended places for a bit of advertising and revenue ?

If of course that wouldn’t be breaking any laws.

  7. I think that if we do get a crossing to Boulogne then it would be of great interest to passengers to know where to go, especially as many will go to the easiest places and not necessarily the best ones so any input from you would be great.

  8. OK, got the 15th off work and will book my chunnel ticket soon.
