Groovytrain

I?m deviating slightly from the SpecialStuff mantra just to point you towards a really well designed Flash website. I wanted to learn Flash a few years ago but I?ve never got around to it. Terrible.

Have a browse at Groovytrain.com. It is beautiful!

See now, I don?t like that.

I want my pages to render as quickly as possible and be available for use immediately. This whole building up in a funky way stuff is just shite if you ask me.

The navbar is OK and actually quite functional wich is cool.

The map on the contact us page has birds flying over it FFS! Also, with these sites you can?t link to any specific content. Grrr?

    But it looks lovely!!!

The site is used for marketting themselves and that style will attract users to what isn?t a very complex site.

Obviously if there was a lot of content on there and not just showpieces then I?d have to agree that there are better ways to go.

And yes you can?t steal the content!!! [or point to a specific page]

You can steal their content actually. There?s a program that will pull apart swf files, I?ll have to dig it out so you can blog about it here.

I don?t even think it looks especially nice either. You could mange pretty much the same effect with some nice xhtml and ajax and it?d be quicker and run on anything.

I guess I like it because I couldn?t do better? for the moment?.. but I?ll learn!!!

That programme to check out swf files would be good.
