Ah Friday. Here we are again at the dawning of a new weekend, and no doubt the opportunity to waste it away and then trudge back to work on Monday. Pessimistic?me? Oh well.
The Usual France Trip
I suppose I do have some things to look forward to, such as my birthday in a couple of weeks time. It?s been tradition for the last 4 years (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) to go to Calais, France, for my birthday as it?s such a short trip away (35 minutes to Dover, and then 90 minutes on the ferry) but this year I wanted to do something different and so I?m having a party.
I guess I?m a bit bored of the repetition and thought a party would make a change. The theme is going to the 1990s as I think we?re far enough along to look back with nostalgia for the simple life, and I?m trying to make it as authentic as I can. I?ve been trying to find Hooch, Woody?s, 2Dogs, etc to give it that authentic feel as me and my friends were all teenagers then, but sadly none of them are made here anymore (although you can get Woody?s and Hooch on the other side of the Atlantic). I guess I?ll just have to settle for Stella, Bacardi Breezers, White Lightning, and 20/20.
All the music is going to be from the 1990s with no exceptions and I think I?ve already stumbled upon a few forgotten gems which should get the place going.
Next up is my fancy dress outfit?.. any guesses?
Hum? Calais isn?t the most exciting place anyway. Oh wait, if you are drunk, might very well be actually.

To be honest it?s not even that good when drunk! A few years back they had an ice rink in the town square which was quite fun but it hasn?t been there for a while.
