The Prodigy ? Warrior?s Dance

The Prodigy - 2009

The Prodigy - 2009

When I was at school I couldn?t get enough of the Prodigy and it was the summer before I started 6th form that The Fat of the Land was released (1997). I already owned Music for the Jilted Generation (1994), the previous album, and then I bought Experience (1991), their first album, which I missed out on as I still in junior school and maybe a little young for rave.

All great albums with some killer tunes on, and although there have been some albums after them I guess I class them as the definitive Prodigy albums, not just because of the songs, but also because of the age I was too.

In 1999 I bought Dirtchamber Sessions Volume 1, which was under the Prodigy name but just a DJ mix by Liam Howlett A good album to listen to but definitely not what the Prodigy were about. The same can also be said of 2004?s Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned which reunited all the band members (minus Leeroy) but never had the feel of the Prodigy. A shame, but maybe I?m being a bit harsh and need to return to the album and have a listen again.

Anyway, this brings to the the point that a new album, Invaders Must Die, was released at the end of February which has, to be honest, slipped under my radar. That was until I heard their latest single on the radio:

Warrior?s Dance

Great tune eh? And I think it?s something that I could have a little rave to.

Warrior?s Dance is available to buy from 11th May 2009.
