I blame you for the moonlit sky

Tonight/this morning there has been a total lunar eclipse, the first for more than 3 years, and it?s pretty amazing stuff. Basically the moon has been fully immersed in the shadow of the Earth.

You can read more about the actual nature of it all and how it works by reading the BBC article here.

I did manage to take a few photos and had to use my tripod to get any clarity. I also had my binoculars out to get a better view.

Here?s what it looked like:

I really like it that I can actually see details of the surface of the moon when it would ordinarily be too bright to work with my camera.

Did anyone else see it?

Sadly, it?s cloudy and snowing here so no eclipse for me. LOVE the photos!

I saw it, but your photo is amazing ? I?d never have thought it was possible to get one that good without all sorts oftelescopic kit.

    Weird moon things, yeah!

I have 10x optical zoom on my camera and had to set it up on a tripod so I wouldn?t get any shake. I?m happy with it too.
